Shri Hanuman
Thakur Temple is located at Imphal city in the Indian state of Manipur.
It is situated
on the banks of Imphal River among the groves Mahabali forest.
This unique and
old temple enshrines a beautiful idol of Lord Hanuman in a Normal face (Human form),
not in a Monkey face. The idol is carved out on a big slab of stone.
The historic
temple was built by Manipur King Garib Niwaj in the year 1725.
The mandapam
located in front of the temple has shadowed the structure of the main temple.
There is a
beautiful bell tower in the complex and entrance of the temple is beautiful as
well.

Thakur Temple is a memento of the RAMANANDI-SADHU cult of Hinduism in Manipur.
