Sankat Mochan Hanuman Temple

Sankat Mochan Hanuman Temple is one of the sacred temples of Hindu God Hanuman in the city of Varanasi belongs to Varanasi district in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. It is located about 320 kms south-east of the state capital city Lucknow and 121 kms east of Allahabad.
Varanasi is also known as Banaras or Kashi and nicknamed as “The spiritual capital of India” situated on the banks of Assi River near famous Kashi Vishwanath temple and Durga Mandir.
Sankat Mochan temple was founded by Saint Tulsidas who was the author of Ramcharitmanas, which is the greatest version of Lord Shri Ram story written as chopaiya-poem in vernacular Awadhi language. It is believed that the temple has been built on the very spot where Goswami Tulsidas had a vision of Lord Hanuman.
