One of the
notable Lord Hanumanji Mandirs in Gujarat is Salangpur Hanumanji known as
“Kashtabhanjan (Crusher of sorrows) Dev” located at Salangpur (or Sarangpur)
village belongs to Barwala taluka comes under Botad district in Indian state of
Gujarat.
Salangpur is
located about 11 kms from the district head quarters Botad city via NH 8E,
around 16 kms from Barwala via Botad-Barwala State Hwy, 146 kms from Ahmedabad
via Amreli road-NH 8A and 86 kms from Bhavnagar city via Dhandhuka-Vallabhipur
Hwy and Bhavnagar-Pipali Hwy.
This temple
is among the more prominent ones in the Swaminarayan Sampraday. The idol of
Hanumanji was installed by Sadguru Gopalanand Swami in the year 1848.
The image of
this temple is said to be so powerful that a mere look at it will drive the
evil spirits out of the people affected by them. Saturday is the designated day
for a special ritual (as Saturday is dedicated to Lord Hanumanji) for those
affected by mental illnesses and other disorders.
