Shree
Swayambhu Patali Hanuman Mandir is located at Mumbai in the Indian state of
Maharashtra. It is situated near famous Mahalaxmi Temple in South Mumbai.
This two
hundred years old temple is called swayambhu means "self-manifested"
appeared on its own and Patali means it came from below the earth. This temple
is visited everyday by many devotees especially more on Saturday.
The
name Mumbai is
derived from Mumba or Maha-Amba-the name of the Patron Goddess
(Kuladevi) Mumbadevi of the native Agri (salt collectors), Koli (fisherfolk)
and Somvanshi Kshatriya communities-and ‘ai’ meaning
"mother" in Marathi language.
15th
century old Mumbadevi temple is Located at Bhuleshwar in South
Mumbai just north of Crawford Market on Mumbadevi Road to the right from northern
end of Zaveri Bazaar.
