Big principal
idol of Rudra Avatar Hanuman (11th Rudra of Lord Shiva) is located at
Bhagwan Hanuman Mandir; Kudroli Shree Gokarnanatha Kshetra in Kudroli area of
Mangalore (or Mangaluru) city, Karnataka state.
Shree Gokarnanatheshwara Temple is situated
at Kudroli, which is about 3 kms away from the main city area of Hampankatta in
Mangalore.
Sri Narayana
Guru (saint and a social reformer) consecrated the Shiva Lingam in this temple
in 1912 year. The main deity of the temple is Lord Shree Gokarnanatha (Lord
Shiva). The original temple structure was in Kerala style which was replaced by
Chola style during recent renovation in 1991.
Navaratri
Utsav (Dasara or Dussehra festival) is very famous and one of the main tourist
events in this temple. Grand procession of Goddess Durga takes place during
this festival popularly known as Mangalore Dasara (like Mysore Dasara) which
attracts many tourists and devotees from far corners of the state, country as
well as all over the world.
