Kaila Devi Mandir

51 feet height biggest sculpture of Lord Hanuman is located in the famous Kaila Devi Mandir at Dewas town belongs to Malwa region under Dewas district in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. It is located about 153 kms from the state capital city Bhopal.
The name Dewas is derived from the Devi Vaishini hill in the city, commonly known as Tekri. The hill has a temple of deity Devi Tulja Bhawani (known as Badi Mata) and Chamunda Mata (Chhoti Mata). The word Dewas is also believed to be a ‘sandhi’ of words ‘Dev’ deity and ‘Vas’ Marathi for abode, thus Dewas means “Abode of the Deity or God or Goddess”.
There is a Shakti Peeth of the Nath Yogis on Tekri which is traditionally belongs to the Nath community. According to the Nath history, we find that Bharthari, brother of King Vikramaditya, who has relation with this region belonging to Naths. Yogi Gorakhnath was also related to this region.
