Biggest statue
of Ramdoot Hanuman is situated at Yogeswar Temple (which is famous for its
ancient Shiva Linga); Patora village comes under Nuapada district in the
Indian state of Odisha. It is located about 18 kms from the district head
quarters Nuapada.
Left side of
temple’s way will take to Lord Ram Mandir through mouth of Surasa (who was mother
of the Nagas hence called Nagmata) which is pressed by Lord Hanuman’s feet.
All of
Sugriva's monkey subjects began to search for Sita (Lord Ram’s wife), and in
this quest Hanuman leaped over the ocean (again using his prodigious strength) to
Lanka (where Devi Sita was abducted by Demon King Ravan and kept in Ashok
Vatika). On the way Hanuman encountered a demoness named Surasa (mother of the Serpents),
who demanded that he go in her mouth before she would let him pass by (in the
usual cases, she would eat those who entered).
Hanuman made
himself very large (by using his power of Mahima siddhi), and Surasa opened her
mouth wider and wider to accommodate him. Hanuman then made himself very small
like mosquito (by using his Anima siddhi), and dashed in and out of her open
mouth. Surasa was pleased with his ingenuity and courage, blessed him, and
allowed him to continue on his way.
