Shree
Rokadia Hanuman Mandir is located at Porbandar coastal city belongs to
Porbandar district in the Indian state of Gujarat. It is located on
Saurashtra's western coast and was an important trading harbor during Jethwa’s
rule.
Porbandar is
perhaps best known for being the birthplace of Sudama, the friend
of Lord Krishna during his Balyam (youth) hence it is also known as
“Sudamapuri”. Sudama Mandir is built in the very spot where Sudama was born in
Porbandar.
Although Bhagwan
Shri Krishna is worshiped widely in Gujarat, Shree Hanumanji is also in worship
this region. Shree Hanuman and His son Makardhwaj is worshiped in Gujarat
together here. The worship of these two deities was prominent during the rule
of Jethwa clan. Jethwa’s are descendents of Makardhwaj therefore of Shree
Hanuman also.
Shree Hanuman
of this place got this name since he answers to the prayers quickly (in
Gujarati ‘Rokadia’ means immediately). Nearly twenty five years back a new huge
deity of Shree Hanumanji was installed.
With peace of mind when devotee prays to the Lord Rokadia Hanuman, in
this pleasing atmosphere, Lord is sure to bestow the blessing to the devotee
quickly.
